The CDFM is an examination-based certification developed by ASMC in partnership with the Department of Defense and
the Chaucey Group International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Educational Testing Services. The CDFM covers the full spectrum
of complex subject areas contained in resource management environment, budgeting and cost analysis, accounting and finance,
and acquisition. The first three modules are required and the acquisition module is optional. The Program is managed by a
Certification Commission which govern the standards of performance for each competency and oversees the process for maintaining
certification.
The Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) is worth three Total Person Score (TPS) points in the education and
training section. Upon receipt of certification, individuals should submit a copy of the document awarding
the certification to the Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) through the local Personnel Flight at Tinker AFB, to have
the DFM code entered into their official record.
Available Training The Enhanced Defense Financial Management (EDFM) Training Course is a five-day, intensive financial management review
course taught in three modules. The course is provided by the Department of Defense and is licensed and copyrighted by the
American Society of Military Comptrollers. The course is offered at a variety of locations (including overseas locations)
throughout the year to make it easier for personnel to attend and to hold down travel expenses. For

Local
Training Local training is now available with Jeff Leid, VP of Certification.
A weekly study group (max of 10 people) meet to review material to prepare for CDFM testing. To be included
in the next study group, contact Mr Leid at DSN 339-7164.
Program Enrollment Each program candidate must be enrolled in the CDFM program to be eligible for testing. Program enrollment
is good for two years. See all elibility requirements at link listed below. Enrollment fee is $35.00 for ASMC
